Some of the Best Quilt
Shops Are in Leola

The northeastern part of Lancaster County offers many intriguing small towns and attractions. After passing through New Holland heading west, you will be approaching Leola. Nearby are three of the area’s best quilt shops; all located a short distance from each other off Rt. 23.

First is Witmer Quilt Shop, offering original and creative Pennsylvania Dutch quilting along with antique quilts. Emma Witmer has been in business for over 40 years and her large selection and quality of quilts proves it.

A bit further west, take Groffdale Rd. north to Smucker’s Quilts. Here, you can shop for beautiful quilts, wall hangings, and other crafts right on an Amish farm. Rachel Smucker has a new, spacious shop that offers a wide selection of quillows, cookbooks, lace products, and many locally made crafts.

Go south on Groffdale Rd. and visit another Amish quilt shop, Country Lane Quilts, on the Stoltzfus farm. Look for the tall red windmill, drive down the lane, and enjoy shopping on an Amish farm. You can even stay for the night!

As you will discover, Rts. 23 and 322 offer beautiful scenery, country towns, and unique shops for those willing to get off the beaten path!

Here are some additional attractions in the Strasburg area I thought I should share with you since I first wrote this page:

  • Hayloft Candles and Petting Zoo

    Hayloft Candles and Petting Zoo

Petting zoo, candles and accessories, glassware and gifts for every season and occasion, homemade ice cream.
