Or maybe all you need is a little air blowing across your face as you take a ride on a steam engine train through the beautiful Pennsylvania Dutch countryside. For our family, summertime and baseball go hand-in-hand. A nice way to spend an evening is to take a trip into the City of Lancaster and watch a good minor league baseball game with the local team. Once summer begins to wane and fall approaches, you might want to visit one of the many corn mazes in Lancaster County. Although the corn maze is the main focus, most of these Lancaster attractions offer many other activities for complete family fun, young and old. Fall is a beautiful and bountiful time of year in Lancaster County when you’ll find many fall harvest activities and festivals to attend. In our small town in northeastern Lancaster County, there are several farms that specialize in chrysanthemums (known as mums to most of us) — the huge blanket of color in their fields is outstanding! Fall is also a great time to take an authentic buggy ride, while learning about the Amish and how they harvest their crops. You’ll learn a lot, and you’ll also get a chance to see the Amish working in their fields. With winter comes the holiday season which is a very special time around here. Lancaster County is predominantly Christian, so Christmas is done up here like no other place that we’ve ever seen. A visit at this time of year will definitely get you in the spirit! And there are so many shopping opportunities for you to find that special gift for your loved ones. So dive right in, explore, and have fun!
